Hi FMLE guys!
I noticed, after searching the Google's, that FMLE apparently requires hardware acceleration to be enabled on your graphics card to work. I haven't had any issues with this, but it got me wondering: How or to what extent does FMLE utilize the graphics card for video transcoding? Is the hardware acceleration requirement actually related to video encoding or something else?
I'm planning to build a high power server for separately transcoding multiple video sources (~3-5) from capture cards to single-bitrate h.264 video streams at 720p. Any information you can provide about what hardware components (e.g. does the display card actually matter, or just the CPU) to focus on for ensuring stable encoding performance and quality would be very helpful.
