Feature Request: CUDA GPU Encoding & Low Latency H.264

Hello,

we are using FMLE for several years since early versions. We stream real-time video and that's why is so important to us to have low latency hight quality stream. We use VP6 codec 350kpbs 15fps at 400x300. The H.264 adds extra latency and buffer of few extra seconds when playing which is not acceptable to us.

I'd like to ask developers if you could consider:

  • adding support for some hardware acceleration - perhaps with NVIDIA CUDA?
  • some solution for low latency real-time H.264 encoding
  • improve latency when encoder is running over high-latency lines (over 200ms) - what about UDP publishing? If we start publishing more then 350kbps then the feed gets choppy due to latency between server and FMLE.
  • API to inject Metadata (cue points) while streaming.

I must also say the current interface could use some improvements. We run this on remote machines over VNC and the configuration options and interface is not optimized for remote access. Maybe something could be done with this as well to make it easy for us who run FMLE remotely.

Thanks,

Vlad
