FMLE suffers from network disconnections

Hey,

I have been using FMLE for quite a long time now. I don't want if Im posting this as a question or as a warning - probably a bit of both.

I use FMLE to publish live streams in long streaming sessions (Hours, perhaps days) and although i have high quality internet connection from time to time a network disconnection occurs, probably for about a second or two.

I used to think that FMLE would just ignore or in the worse case republish the stream in that cases but found out that that is not the case.

I use a buffer limit of 10s to cause the FMLE to flush the buffers and republish as described in the conf XML file.  Also I'm using "drop frames" as an auto adjust measure in case the network connection degrades adds buffer size exceeds 1s as described in the documentation here http://help.adobe.com/en_US/FlashMediaLiveEncoder/3.0/Using/flashmedialiveencoder_3_help.p df and in the help files.

Basically, when a disconnection occurs, 0mbps bandwidth for that matter FMLE would start to fill and flush the buffer repeatedly and will no republish the stream. Even if manually stopping (not disconnecting yet) and starting the publish process would not help since the result would be an error message after a timeout period that the stream is busy.

In reality using network sniffer it is easy to see that FMLE would not send even a single byte on the open 1935 RTMP port so it is obviously a local and not a server problem.

I must stress that in case the network connectivity simply degrades (let's say by 10-40%) FMLR would suckup and continue working. It would also try to reconnect if a disconnection from the server occurs. But in case bandwidth is just down to 0 for what ever reason - you would see that problem.

So, now for my question - has anyone experienced such behaviour or on the other side was able to stream 24+ hours without problems?

Could anyone explain what is going on or alternatively recommend a stronger live streaming solution from FMS ?

Thanks and i hope this info might help anyone out there..

Yoad.
