Remote control of media encoder

On the download page for media encoder it suggests that I could control FME remotely. I would like to start and stop the encoder + send it data about the file name to use and datarates etc.

I've searched for information on the remote control feature of FME2.5 but cannot find anything relavent.

Does anyone know how to do this?
